College rankings again place CSB and SJU among national leaders – CSB / SJU
Fall is here, which means it’s time for colorful trees, dropping temperatures, football and… college rankings.
Each fall, organizations classify colleges and universities into various categories. The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University are no exception, as both schools appear in various rankings.
Here’s a look at some of the important rankings involving CSB and SJU:
Of 63 colleges in Minnesota, CSB ranked # 3 and SJU # 5.
Nationally, CSB was ranked # 107 and SJU # 142. CSB’s ranking places it in the top 4.2% of schools nationwide reviewed by College Factual, while SJU’s ranking is in the top. top 5.5% of schools.
College Factual’s analysis looked at 2,576 schools in the United States to determine which were the best in terms of overall quality. Its ranking methodology focuses on over 20 different objective factors – such as graduation rate, graduate income, and a school’s average spending per student in making that decision.
Both the CSB and the SJU have made considerable gains in the national ratings of the Liberal Arts Schools Monthly.
CSB was ranked # 18 and SJU # 49 among liberal arts schools. CSB went from n ° 31 and SJU from n ° 60 in the conclusions of the Monthly 2020.
Washington Monthly ranks liberal arts colleges – four-year institutions that almost exclusively grant bachelor’s degrees and focus on the arts and sciences rather than professional programs – based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research and promotion of the public service.
Both schools were also rated in the monthly, “Best Bang for the Buck Colleges – Midwest” category. CSB was ranked # 18 and SJU # 71.
In this ranking, the monthly examined the extent to which colleges help non-wealthy students obtain marketable degrees at affordable prices. The list is created by isolating social mobility measures from the main rankings of four-year institutions.
Listed jointly, the CSB / SJU was named one of the “Best Colleges” by the Princeton Review. Any of the 387 schools listed nationwide have not been assigned a numerical rating (they are listed in alphabetical order). The “Best Colleges” guide has been published since 1992 and only presents about 14% of US four-year colleges.
American News and World Report
CSB edged up to No. 92 in the 2022 US News and World Report liberal arts school rankings. It was a four-spot improvement from the magazine’s placement in 2021. Meanwhile, SJU registered at No.105, a slight drop from its 2021 ranking (No.102).
Wall Street Journal / Times Higher Education
Part of the Wall Street Journal / Times Higher Education ranking asked graduates if they made the “right choice” – if they could start over, would they still choose the college they chose? SJU was tied at No.1 in Minnesota with a ranking of 8.6 (out of 10). CSB finished third with a ranking of 8.5. SJU and CSB ranked # 1 to 2 among private colleges.
