The new labor wage code should be delayed. According to sources, there is a possible delay in the implementation of the new labor wage code. The Ministry of Labor will hold an important meeting on Friday October 1, sources said.
It is likely that the contributions received from States will be discussed at the meeting. The government is in the process of finalizing the rules, sources confirmed.
The government plans to implement the Wages Code during the current fiscal year itself.
What will change with the new wage code?
Under the new code, the allowance limit will be 50 percent. The base salary will be half of the total salary. The calculation of the contribution to the Caisse de Prévoyance des Salariés (EPF) will be based on the basic salary. The contribution to the provident fund (FP) will increase due to the increase in the basic salary.
The new labor wage code proposes to increase working hours to a maximum of 12 hours. More than 15 to 30 minutes of overtime will be considered overtime. The new wage code suggests overtime of at least 30 minutes.
