Webster Ward Sheriff’s Deputy Dies While on Duty
Webster Ward Sheriff’s Deputy Trey Copeland tragically died while on duty. The MP died while on duty at Cotton Valley as a result of the pursuit of a motorcyclist.
At approximately 6:29 p.m. on US Hwy 371 just south of Sarepta on Tuesday, the congressman for Webster C. Barton launched a chase against a motorcycle driven by Johnny Jenkins from 300 Block of East Street in Cotton Valley. .
After the lawsuit, Deputy Copeland said he was not feeling well. The deputy was taken to hospital, where he later died. There has been no confirmation of the cause of death. Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said this:
“Our hearts and prayers are with his family… He was a loyal and devoted servant of the citizens of Webster Ward… he will be truly missed.”
He is the second Webster Parish MP to die while on duty as part of his part-time law enforcement job since July.
